Excursions
There are a number of cities that are easy to reach from
Puerto Vallarta via bus. For those interested in exploring outside the
Vallarta area, we will organize weekend excursions.
-
Guadalajara
The second largest city in Mexico, Guadalajara is
considered the “most Mexican of all Mexican cities”. It is the home of
some of Mexico’s most inspiring 16th century architecture and is a city
of monuments, parks and flowers, fountains and tree lined avenues.
Guadalajara is known as the birthplace of Mariachi music and is also the
home of the Mexican hat dance. During the weekend visit, you will have
the opportunity to tour the historic center including the Cathedral,
Government Palace, Degollado Theatre, Regional Museum, Rotonda de los
Hombres Ilustres, Plaza de La Liberacion, Cabanas Cultural Institute,
Libertad Market and Plaza de los Mariachis. Additionally, you will
visit Zapopan which although a separate city contains many of
Guadalajara’s attractions.

Sierra Madre Tour
Venture away from the city in an all-terrain
vehicle and tour the majestic Sierra Madre Mountains. Explore the
jungle, travel through the exuberant tropical vegetation and learn about
the local flora & fauna. This adventure will also take you through a
small village and provide another view of the local lifestyle.
Canopy Tour
This exciting eco-adventure can be found just outside
Vallarta. Explore the jungle canopy zipping from tree to tree along the
beautiful Orquidias River. Enjoy the sights and sounds of nature from a
unique vantage point.
Mountain Bikes, Jeep & Dune Buggies
If you are interested in
exploring Vallarta and the Sierra Madres in unique style, all you need
to do is select your preferred mode of transportation – both tours and
rentals are available. Your opportunity to explore is only limited by
your time and energy.
Hiking
The majestic Sierra Madre Mountains provide an excellent
backdrop for a hiking adventure. The trip will take you through the
jungle, along mountain streams and provide you with spectacular views of
secluded valleys and the Pacific Ocean. Your guide will identify native
plants, birds and wildlife and you will expand your vocabulary in a
beautiful, natural setting.
Horseback Riding
There are a number of ranches throughout the
surrounding area of Puerto Vallarta that offer horseback riding
experiences. Whether your interest lies with a quite ride on the beach
or a trail ride in the mountains, you will be able to enjoy the activity
in Vallarta.
Golf
Vallarta is a premier golf destination with 7 challenging
courses available.
Art Walk
Old Town Art Walk is one of the most popular events of the
year. From October thru April, twelve art galleries invite you to join
them for free cocktail expositions every other Wednesday from 6-10 pm.
The exhibitions give you the opportunity to explore the art offered in
Vallarta, meet the artists and see their new works. Definitely a treat
for any art lover and fun for those trying to find their own artistic
eye.
