I have been studying Spanish at the Spanish Experience Center for two weeks now and the facilities and teachers provided are absolutely fantastic. We have come along way with our Spanish, and we are really enjoying it here. In relation to the hysteria surrounding the swine flu epidemic we have felt completely safe in Puerto Vallarta where there is in reality no risk to students. It is a beautiful seaside town, and we highly recommend coming here to study Spanish this summer. You will learn a lot, and have a fantastic time enjoying the city. Guaranteed. Don´t let the media surrounding swine flu in Mexico put you off, there is truly no risk.

Cari amici Italiani, io mi chiamo Marco e sono in messico da un mese e mezzo, percio´ vi posso dire come si sta vivendo questa influneza dei suini dal posto.

Da quando e´ iniziato il tutto la mia vita qui non ha subito molte variazioni l'unica cosa che alcuni luoghi pubblici come discoteche, scuole sono state chiuse o parzialmente chiuse per precauzione, il resto e tutto uguale. 

I miei famigliari dall'Italia si sono preoccupati moltissimo ma ovviamente le notizie riportate da giornali e tv sono sempre gonfiate in modo assurdo. Lo credo che ci sono sotto interessi sconusciti a molti, (io compreso) ma certamente comprendo che vendere giornali e´ farmaci e un buon commercio.

 

Da Mexico tuuto bene

Liebes Spanish Experience Center-Team!

 

Vielen Dank fuer die schoene Zeit hier in Puerto Vallarta.

 

Dank Euch konnte ich mein Spanisch sehr verbessern und es hat mir sehr viel Spass bereitet. Die Schule ist einfach super, angefangen bei den Lehrern ueber das Gebaeude, den Service usw. Ich bin sehr zufrieden und wuerde jederzeit wieder bei Euch Spanisch lernen.

 

Leider kamen in der letzten Woche die Nachrichten ueber die Grippe (ehemals Schweinegrippe) auf, wodurch das oeffentliche Leben in ganz Mexiko, also auch hier, zum Erliegen kam, obwohl hier in Puerto Vallarta und im ganzen Bundesstaat Jalisco kein einziger (Verdachts-)Fall der Grippe aufgetreten ist. Ich bin natuerlich froh, dass hier so verantwortungsvoll mit dem Ansteckungsrisiko umgegangen wird. Dennoch freue ich mich schon auf Donnerstag, wenn die Lokale wieder oeffnen und ich das ereignisreiche Leben hier in Vallarta geniessen kann. Ich denke, dass, wenn ich auch in den naechsten Tagen die Ratschlaege beachte, die von der Regierung ausgesprochen wurden, also z.B. das sehr regelmaessige Waschen der Haende, ich meine letzten Tage hier unbeschwert geniessen kann.

I have to say, I feel much safer here in Puerto Vallarta than I would in San Diego where there are 25 times more cases.  The people in Mexico have, in my opinion done an amazing job of containing H1N1 and I for one feel that they are succeeding.  I could leave today for the US and I probably would if I felt I would be safer there, but I know that I wouldn't be.

Meine Meinung ueber die Schweinegrippe:
 
Die Schweinegrippe war mehr Panik als sonst etwas, fuer mich war klar das ich hier in Mexiko bleibe. Die Vorsichtsmassnahmen, z.B Schliessung der Clubs, waren jedoch Hilfreich, da Puerto Vallarta doch ein sehr turistischer Ort ist. Die Situation ist jetzt wieder geregelt und alles ist wieder geoeffnet, die Mexikaner trauen sich auch wieder auf die Strassen, man sieht keine Menschen mehr mit Masken, die Normalitaet ist wiedergekehrt. Die Regierung hat eindeutig ueberreagiert!

I'm here in Mexico for 3 month now and i dont regret my decision! everything is just great here. the teacher are lovely, the night live is great and about the flu, don’t be scared. because vallarta is in a safe area and the mexican government is taking care of all problems. I was listening to the news in switzerland, so i understand everything and they said that the worst thing is over. after school i'm going to travel around Mexico and i'm really not scared at all from the flu.
so if your thinking to come don’t be scared from the flu. no passa nada
